At Flint Community Schools, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of openness, accountability, and transparency. We believe in the importance of providing our community with access to information that enables understanding, trust, and collaboration.
Our commitment to transparency extends to our compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). We recognize the value of FOIA as a tool for citizens to request and receive information about the operations and activities of our school district. We are committed to promptly and responsibly addressing FOIA requests, ensuring that we provide information in accordance with the law.
Flint Community Schools views transparency not only as a legal obligation but as a fundamental aspect of building strong partnerships with our community. We strive to proactively share relevant information, engage in open communication, and empower our stakeholders with the knowledge they need to actively participate in the education and well-being of our scholars.

By submitting a written request to Flint Community Schools' FOIA coordinator, describing the public record with sufficient detail for identification, individuals are granted the right to inspect, copy, or receive copies of the requested public record. It's important to note that Flint Community Schools may charge a fee to cover the processing costs associated with fulfilling the request. This process aligns with our commitment to transparency and compliance with the provisions of FOIA.
